Weird - can it be my profile doesn't provide me with javiness? I just accessed VS without logging in and it had all the javiness. Right now, under my own profile I can't turn off the lights either. Weirdness - the same applies for when I access VS at work.

eh, sorry, I'm a little touchy. we've had some pretty heated discussions on VS about mercury and its related adverse health implications, which some doubt (depending on the intake).
